1928 - February 14, 2015
June was born in Three Hills, AB to Benjamin Ward and Evelyn Nesbitt. She was predeceased by her husband William Francis (Frank) Kinney and siblings Howard Ward, Walter Ward and Frank Ward. Survived by her brother Thomas Harold (Harry) Ward (Florence) and sisters Bonnie (William) Paling, Frances (Anthony) Prettegiani and Mary Stapleton. June was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She and Frank had five children: Laureen Kinney, Joanne Kinney, Timothy Kinney, Gregory Kinney (Tanis) and David Kinney (Angie Chambers). June's grandchildren include: Ward (Stacey, children Luceiia and Emmett), Kevin, Ryan (Holly and son Nathan), Clara, Jessica, Rebecca and Rachel. June graduated from Saint Joseph's Nursing College in Victoria and was the Director of Nursing at Menno Hospital in Abbotsford. June resided in Surrey with Joanne and enjoyed many activities with the Golden Retriever Club of BC and Great Dane Club of Western BC. She will be remembered with love for her warm heart, beautiful smile and dedication to family and friends. A Celebration of Life/ Open House will take place on Saturday, February 21 at the Kinney residence in Surrey between 6-9 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers, please.

6111 KOWALSKI, EDWARD JOSEPH - (September 12, 1932 - February 5, 2010) Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Kelowna Hospice House after a long and painful battle with cancer. His family will miss him dearly, but are thankful he is free of pain at last. Ed was born in St. Lina, Alberta and moved to Edmonton after his discharge from RCAF and then moved to Abbotsford in 1968, later to Kelowna in 1981. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen; three sons, Dave (Wendy), Don (Lori) and Bill (Paula); three grandchildren, T.J. (Wendy), Jennie (Ludo) and David; two great grandchildren, Alex and Alannah. Also survived by brother, Derm (Karen) Kowalski of North Battleford, SK and sisters, Joanne (Ron) Murray of Alsask, SK and Gloria (Ron) Sobb of Okotoks, AB. Predeceased by father, Edward R. Kowalski and mother, Anne Trybuch. A very sincere thank you to the truly special staff of Central Okanagan Hospice House, South Wing. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 with Fr. Dave DeSouza officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, 2035 Ethel Street, Kelowna V1Y 2Z6 or to the Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Ave, Kelowna V1Y 5L3. This is a Thursday, so either refers to yesterday, or a week ago which seems more likely due to publication delays. This may be the grandfather of Samuel who was born c1749.
