- SHAPKA _ Irene Alma (nee Siddon) 1921 - 2007 Irene Shapka, cherished wife of Steve, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Irene was born on May 8, 1921 at Olds, Alberta. She moved to Calgary as a young woman, where she lived most of her life. It was in Calgary that she met and married the love of her life, Steve, on April 15, 1942. Leaving behind with loving memories are her husband of sixty-five years, Steve, and their three children, John (Gaylene), Doug (Cheryl) and Christina (Hans Spiess). Grandma will also be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16 Avenue N.W.
