- KOWALSKI, EDWARD JOSEPH - (September 12, 1932 - February 5, 2010) Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Kelowna Hospice House after a long and painful battle with cancer. His family will miss him dearly, but are thankful he is free of pain at last. Ed was born in St. Lina, Alberta and moved to Edmonton after his discharge from RCAF and then moved to Abbotsford in 1968, later to Kelowna in 1981. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen; three sons, Dave (Wendy), Don (Lori) and Bill (Paula); three grandchildren, T.J. (Wendy), Jennie (Ludo) and David; two great grandchildren, Alex and Alannah. Also survived by brother, Derm (Karen) Kowalski of North Battleford, SK and sisters, Joanne (Ron) Murray of Alsask, SK and Gloria (Ron) Sobb of Okotoks, AB. Predeceased by father, Edward R. Kowalski and mother, Anne Trybuch. A very sincere thank you to the truly special staff of Central Okanagan Hospice House, South Wing. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 with Fr. Dave DeSouza officiating.
