Notes |
- Two sets of parents have been suggested by other researchers. John Cocking & Ellen Mitchell by Anne Brogden [on Tree given by her to Lois Squire of NY]; and Robert & Dorothy Cocking of Tuxford by Nik Nicola Pike of Fulstow, which concurs with my thoughts, and research. Aug 2011.
- Notes on Robert Cocking & wife Dorothy: LDS IGI shows 4 baptisms in Nottinghamshire in correct time period, 2 in Tuxford, 2 in Weston, which is not far away. Two additional Baptisms also found.

This would fit with all 4 of the Cocking brothers in our family, both for names and year of birth based on other records like census, or burials, plus 2 new ones Robert & George who may not have lived to have families.
Additionally, Joseph named one of his daughters Dorothy, which does not seem like a very common name here.
