    • "of Upton" [just northeast of Nottingham] from transcription in Lincolnshire FHS Mar 1999 (Vol 10 No 1): Compiler Rev. Thomas Cocking, dated 21 Dec. 1864. Shows ties between brothers John, William, Joseph & Thomas Cocking. [although it may be that there is an extra generation needed to rectify the members, since a Joseph married Sarah Warrener in 1772 which appears to be too late for this Joseph, unless he married late in life. Will leave as is for now though. June 2011]
    • Joseph Cocking, of Upton, Notts., Wheelwright, apprentice Jno Brett. In: UK Register of Duties Paid for Apprentices' Indentures, 1710-1811. Ancestry.com [this is likely same Joseph] Nov 2011.
