    • It was assumed that the John Ward who died in 1829 is a brother to William & Uncle to Sylvanus Ward of Saffron Walden, and not the father of William. However it is shown by the Will of 1799 of Richard Ward of Saffron Walden that he does not have a son named John living in 1799. Feb 2012. Updated Mar 2012.
