- SMITH, Lucille Belle Lucille passed away peacefully after a brief illness with her family at her side, on Sept. 6 at 90 years of age. Born on the family farm near Cayley, she grew up in Cayley and High River. In 1941 she married Ernie Attwood of Nanton, who predeceased her in 1951. Then, in 1954 she married Harry Smith of Nanton, who also predeceased her in 2005. Lucille is survived by her seven children; Lynn (Marvin) Johnson, Pat (Bill) Martin, Tom (Louise) Attwood, John (Brenda) Attwood, Deb Bronson, Roy Smith, and Greg (Cindy) Smith; as well as 21 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Lucene Wheeler, her twin, and Dorothy Cruikshank. Her two brothers, Bill and Don Kitchen, and two sisters, Pearl Dobie and Ruby Boutland predeceased her. A memorial service for Lucille was held at the Nanton-Parkland United Church on Sept. 10. Interment took place at the Nanton Columbarium.
